I have been coming to Hadley since I was a little girl. I have decided to start the tradition back up and come up once a year with my family and camp. I love the campground and the location. However trying to book with them is a little frustrating. I tried to call all day yesterday and all day today 1/2-1/3/24 it would ring for a good 2 minutes and go to their voicemail. So I hung up and called again almost immediately and it went straight to voicemail like someone was on the phone. How can we make reservations if we can’t get thru.
Nice, convenient campground only 9 miles from Acadia National park and Bar Harbor Maine. The Island Explorer bus that goes to the visitor center of Acadia, Bar Harbor and throughout the park stops at the campground. The RV sites are flat but not all are level. Bathroom and showers are clean. The showers are individual rooms but not heated and no place for shampoo. Also rain head shower has poor water pressure. It's 50 cents in quarters for 7 minutes. Great cell service with Verizon and ATT.
I appreciate that I was able to get a campsite here when Blackwoods was sold out months in advance. This campground was about 20 minutes from Acadia NP.
The "wooded tent sites" offered more trees than the RV sites, but are so close together, I wouldn't call them private. The bathrooms in the tent loop were so weird...the homemade stalls were barely big enough to fit inside. When you sit on the toilet, your knees touch the door and your feet stick out under the door. Awkward and uncomfortable even for a small child. If you're a larger person, you won't fit in the stall. Fortunately, there are much more modern, single stall restrooms at the shower house. It's a little longer walk, and you might have to wait your turn, but worth it.
The pool with diving board was fun for the whole family, but it's totally shaded in the late afternoon so it gets pretty chilly.
The employees were friendly. Check in was simple. Just wait in your car and they come to you.
The firewood is a great price. Unfortunately, we didn't get to have a campfire because our site was SO small, and the only flat place for our tent was very close to the fire pit, so it wasn't safe to have a fire.
For an outdoorsy tent camping family like mine, I would have much preferred being inside the national park as I don't like the vibe of RV parking lots, but this was an acceptable alternative if you just need a place to sleep.
Pretty nice campground. Convenient to Acadia national park and Bar Harbor. Lots of photo ops nearby. Campsite was about 12" out of level from back to front of our 32' motorhome. The showers near us were old and didn't have adequate hot water. They do have a newer bathhouse up from our area that we didn't try.
This campground is well planned and the owners thought of every detail from it's location, the flow of traffic in and around the campground to escort you to your site upon arrival and the ease of online reservations, payment and confirmation. The staff is responsive and wants to be helpful. The campground is clean; the sites, the bathrooms, shower rooms, laundry facilities and camp store. We will definitely go back - In fact we've already booked!
Hadleys Point was the perfect campground for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor! The check in process was extremely smooth and there’s tons of staff on site to help you if needed. There’s a beach about .4 miles down the road with BEAUTIFUL sunsets (but extremely buggy) the tent sites are close together but everyone is respectful of noise and it was very calm and quiet. I felt extremely safe and welcomed here. The showers were cold but everything was still very clean! The little store on site was convenient as well. Can’t recommend them enough!
We were looking for a last minute camp site to stay at and the people we spoke to were amazing. We did everything over the phone and online and our reservation was secured in minutes.
This location is great. It's about a 15 min drive from Acadia National Park and there's some great little food places around.
The campsite they held for us had some privacy due to the trees that separated the different tent camp sites. The bathrooms and showers were super clean and easily accessible.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Great value and location!
My wife and I stayed at Hadley's while exploring Acadia National Park. The campground was very clean and well taken care of. Acadia is a short 8 minute drive. The shower and washroom facilities are very nice and the staff were wonderful and helpful our entire stay. The beach at the end of the road is stunning! We will be back!
